About UCP Registry

What is UCP?

Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) is an open standard that enables AI agents and tools to interact with e-commerce stores programmatically. Merchants expose structured endpoints for product discovery, checkout, cart management, shipping, and more — allowing AI shopping agents to browse, compare, and transact on behalf of consumers.

What is UCP Registry?

UCP Registry is the ecosystem registry for the Universal Commerce Protocol. We index, verify, and benchmark the full landscape of UCP implementations — from the merchants exposing endpoints to the AI agents shopping them.

Every entity receives a permanent registry ID (e.g.,

UCP-M-000001
) for stable referencing across the ecosystem.

What We Offer

Runtime Verification

Every merchant endpoint is verified through real HTTP requests — checking availability, manifest validity, response time, protocol version, and declared capabilities. Verification runs continuously so data stays fresh.

Performance Benchmarks

Merchants are scored on speed, data quality, capability coverage, and overall implementation quality. Benchmark grades (A through F) help developers and agents identify the best UCP implementations.

Agent Leaderboard

We benchmark AI shopping agents across real UCP stores, measuring search, cart, and checkout success rates. The leaderboard ranks models by how well they navigate the full commerce funnel — from product discovery to completed purchase.

AI Bot Access Policies

We track which AI crawlers and agents each merchant allows — GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, Applebot-Extended, and CCBot. This helps agent developers know which merchants are accessible.

Public API

The UCP Registry API is free and open. Query merchants, platforms, tools, and ecosystem stats programmatically. Rate-limited to 100 requests per day — no API key required.

Embeddable Badges & Widgets

Merchants can embed verification badges and live status widgets on their own websites, showing their UCP status and linking back to their registry page.

Ecosystem Graph

Entity pages cross-link to related merchants, platforms, plugins, tools, capabilities, and transports — creating a navigable map of the entire UCP ecosystem. Pages like /capability/checkout and /transport/mcp aggregate data across all merchants using those features.
